Curodont Drill-Free Cavity Treatment in Camp Verde, AZ

Curdont Early Cavity Detection

Catch It Early, Skip the Drill

Most people learn about a cavity the same way: the dentist says the word, and the drill comes out.

There is a window before that. Decay starts as a soft, mineral-poor spot inside the enamel, and for a while the surface of the tooth is still intact. Dentists have historically had two choices at that point. Watch it and hope it holds, or drill it out and place a filling.

Curodont gives Dr. Timpanaro a third option. It is a liquid formula, developed by vVARDIS, that carries minerals down into the full depth of the lesion, including the calcium and phosphate already present in your saliva. Those minerals rebuild the enamel structure from the inside. No drill. No injection. No rubber dam. It takes one visit and about ten minutes per tooth.

We use it at our Camp Verde office for patients across the Verde Valley who want to keep as much natural tooth as possible.

Who Curodont Is For

Curodont works on early decay that has not yet broken through the surface of the tooth.

White spots after braces. Plaque sits around brackets for months and pulls minerals out of the enamel underneath. When the braces come off, those chalky patches are the result. Curodont is designed to treat them.

Small spots found on X-rays. Decay between teeth often shows up on a radiograph long before you can feel or see anything. That is the ideal moment to treat it.

Kids and teens. No drill and no shot removes most of what makes a dental visit scary. It is also useful for kids who have a hard time sitting through longer treatment.

Adults with a history of cavities. If you keep getting fillings, treating spots early changes the pattern instead of managing it.

When Curodont is not the answer: once decay has broken through the enamel and left an actual hole, the tooth needs a filling or a crown. Curodont does not fill cavities and it does not replace lost tooth structure. Dr. Timpanaro will tell you straight which situation you are in after he looks at the tooth and your X-rays.

Dr. Timpanaro referred me to Prescott Endodontics for a root canal A tooth that's been causing me a great deal of pain, we discovered this morning has a deep and very severe crack, along with a compromised root. They did a great job on the root canal but said this tooth needs a crown ASAP. At 11:00am, last minute I called Dr. Timpanaro in Camp Verde at Verde Smiles asking for his next available appointment, as the remaining tooth is compromised and needs to be covered and supported. He fit me in immediately! "Come in now, Tara! We'll take care of you!" Above and beyond!! Getting a crown as we speak.

Had an emergency visit to repair a broken tooth. The office staff were helpful in getting me in very quickly. I required a crown, which most people know are quite expensive. The dentist (office) worked with me with their in-house program. Dr. Timpanaro and Eric were very quick, which meant a lot to me. I would describe them as efficient, kind and helpful. This rates high on my list for one of my best dental experiences. For me that is saying alot. If you're still looking around, I would definitely refer you to this doc.

Common Questions We Hear

No. A filling removes decayed tooth structure and replaces it with a material. Curodont works on decay that has not yet made a hole, helping minerals rebuild the enamel that is still there. If your tooth already has a cavity that has broken through the surface, you need a filling, and Dr. Timpanaro will tell you that rather than sell you a treatment that will not help.

There is no drilling and no injection, so there is nothing to numb. Most patients describe the appointment as similar to a fluoride treatment. You sit still for a few minutes while the formula does its work.

Yes. It is used on both baby teeth and permanent teeth, and it is a common choice for children and teens, especially anyone in braces or just out of them. Ask us about it at your child's next visit.

One application per spot is typical. Patients at higher risk for decay, including anyone in orthodontic treatment, may benefit from repeat treatment. Dr. Timpanaro will monitor the treated area at your regular checkups and let you know.
